    Our program was designed for teens and was developed by us over a decade ago. In 2003, we built the first teen fitness and weight loss program in our nation, Lean Teen Program, and rebuilt it again in 2014. Over the past 16 years our program has helped over 1,000 kids and teens transform their lives.

  2. Kids Fitness and Your 8-12 Year Old

    When London joined our program at age 9 she had the drive and commitment to be fit but lacked the knowledge to make healthy choices. The first thing we did to help London was to set up a meeting with her and her mom to do a personalized nutrition plan. Since being healthy is a lot more than just exercise, parents need to realize that nutrition is 80% percent of the work when it comes to staying fit.

    Knowledge that children gain about food and its health benefits has an important influence in their eating habits as adults. Training London on how to use MyPlate was critical in her success since she learned how to balance her plate and measure the right portion sizes for her age. She also learned how to eat the right mix of foods and make better choices at school and when going out to eat.

    A regular exercise program is just as essential to help school-age kids lay the foundation necessary for a healthy lifestyle. Current physical activity guidelines recommend 60 minutes or more of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity daily. Once London was set up with her nutrition plan, she attended classes that consisted of 30 minutes of exercise with a trainer and 30 minutes of group support.

    Even though our group support classes take up 30 minutes of each one hour class, kids need to get the right support to build healthy habits. Most people today have problems dealing with stress, emotional eating, and over eating which all play a part in our obesity epidemic. This is why we give all our kids the support they need to build their self-esteem and confidence in a group setting with their peers.

    Below is a great picture of London after losing over 5 pounds her first month. The best thing about training her to be fit is not the weight loss but seeing her excel at push ups and her work outs. The knowledge and skills London is learning about nutrition and exercise will be a part of her for the rest her life. And that is truly a wonderful thing since all kids need to build healthy habits at a young age.

    It all starts with a one-on-one nutritional consultation to better understand your child’s eating habits. Your health coach will prepare a nutrition plan that gives your family the flexibility needed to make permanent lifestyle changes. MyPlate is an effective way for your child to learn how to control their portions with an easy to understand illustration that will teach them how to build a healthy plate.

    All our group support classes are designed to help kids stay motivated and get the encouragement they need. With the assistance of an expert counselor, our group support classes discuss positive thinking, body image, self-esteem, anti-bullying strategies, dealing with stress, goal setting, problem solving, nutrition, and much more. It is all about empowering our kids with the tools to be successful.

    3. Unlimited Exercise Classes

    Our exercise classes are designed to help kids get in shape no matter what their current level of activity is. By combining short bursts of cardio with recovery periods, your child will burn more calories than exercising at the same pace in just half the time. All our classes include 30 minutes of exercise as well as 30 minutes of group support to help our kids stay physically and mentally in shape.

  3. Bella and Her Mom Get Fit Together

    We are always grateful when we have a new guest visit us. God gave us the privilege to work with so many wonderful families and we take our work seriously. We are not only on a mission to help kids build healthy habits but also to make them strong, confident, and successful adults.

    Recently, we received an email from one of our parents Brooke. When she first brought her daughter Bella to our program over a year ago she could barely do a push up or sit up. Today, Bella is a strong and confident young lady. In her email, Brooke shares how our program has transformed her life.

    “First, I must say I absolutely LOVE Lean Teen and everything it stands for. My favorite part is your Christian influence, smile, and your love for the kids! It makes me emotional to think our journey will come to an end at Lean Teen. Your impact will never be forgotten though. I can’t thank you enough for helping Bella becoming a strong, confident, young women. Before Lean Teen she was quiet, shy and insecure. Now she stands tall and feels good about herself. Before Lean Teen she couldn’t do a single sit up or push up. Now she does more than the boys in her gym class.”

    Bella came to our program over a year ago and is now at a healthy BMI after losing 10 pounds and growing a few inches. She is also ready to workout on her own and is an expert in nutrition and reading food labels. Great job Brooke in being an amazing role model to your daughter. We are so proud of you Bella for your hard work and commitment to get fit. We will miss you both!

    It was always a treat to see Brooke and Bella attend our parent and teen exercise classes on Saturdays. The sad part of running a program like ours is that sometimes we have to say “goodbye.” Below is a great picture of Brooke and Bella that we will cherish forever. We hope to also meet your family.

  4. Success Story: Teen Loses 50 Pounds

    Before Marquis joined the Lean Teen Program he was being bullied at school. Now he’s one of our biggest success stories and his smile replaces the anger he once had. In less than a year Marquis lost over 50 pounds by attending our Lean Teen classes and changing his eating and exercise habits.

    Marquis (age 13) has also rediscovered his passion for playing basketball and has learned how easy it is to make healthy food choices. Besides coming twice a week to our program, he joined the basketball team at his school and now spends his free time exercising instead of playing video games. Marquis also is eating more vegetables, drinking 8 glasses of water per day, and getting the sleep he needs.

    His dad and mom (pictured above) are very proud of Marquis for his hard work and commitment. His dad Marc told us “I’m proud of him for sticking with it because at first it was a challenge to him because it’s hard work. He stuck with it, and we pushed him along, but now it’s automatic for him.”

    Marquis has even inspired his parents to go walking with him and keeps his family accountable with their food choices. Marc shared with us that “in addition to making changes in himself, he will challenge us to walk daily with him and make better food choices. It is amazing to see how the program helped him change his habits and lose so much weight in such a short amount of time!”

    Marc now recommends the Lean Teen Program to his friends and people he knows at work. “I’ve told everyone I know how great this program is and how it helps to transform kids lives. It was very easy for my son to change his eating habits using MyPlate and now the whole family is eating healthier too.”
